Aston Martin con la Vantage V12 propone l'ultima supercar con l'iconico motore thumbnail

Aston Martin V12 Vantage, 333 units already sold

The V12 Vantage is back, but really for the last time, as Aston Martin has once again decided to install its most powerful engine in its entry-level model. Until now, in fact, the Vantage was only available with the well-known 4.0 V8 biturbo from Mercedes-AMG, but now, under the name “V12 Vantage”The powerful 5.2-liter V12 engine with two turbos will be available already seen on the DB11 and DBS Superleggera.

The only 333 units that Aston Martin has planned for the new V12 Vantage they have an output of 700 hp and 753 Nm. Just like the V12 Speedster offers. This makes the twelve-cylinder engine of the V12 Vantage slightly less powerful than that proposed with the DBS V12 Superleggera, in which the block delivers 725 hp and 900 Nm to the rear wheels. However, the V12 Vantage is in one fell swoop the most powerful Vantage model ever. It reaches 97 km / h in 3.4 seconds and should be able to reach a top speed of 322 km / h. On paper, the V12 Vantage isn’t even that much faster than the existing V8 Vantage. According to Aston Martin data, the Vantage with V8 sprints – with automatic transmission – to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 314 km / h.

No V12 Vantage is such without the necessary refinements, so for this model, too, Aston Martin has worked hard on the appearance. First of all the “enlarged” design of the bodywork allows you to have 40 mm more of track“. The V12 Vantage looks considerably more exuberant than its predecessor. Aston Martin gives it a larger grille and side fins, while at the rear stands out a “generous” bumper with two centrally positioned exhaust pipes. Equally striking is the huge rear spoiler. The work done on the spoiler gives the V12 Vantage top speed with beyond 200 kilograms of downward pressure.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage, low weight with various tricks

In order not to add too much weight to the V12 Vantage due to the arrival of the larger V12, Aston Martin used carbon fiber for the front bumper, hood, windshields and tailgate. The system of exhaust guarantees a weight reduction of over 7 kilos.

L’Aston Martin V12 Vantage has an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, which transmits power to the rear wheels via a mechanical differential lock. Adaptive shock absorbers? Of the lot, the same goes for the new strut bridges. The springs on the front and rear are respectively 50% and 40% stiffer than those of the Vantage V8. The standard carbon ceramic brake system is supposed to offer the right braking to this racing car. These brakes provide the new Vantage with a weight saving of 23 kilos. If desired, you can opt for special lightweight wheels that reduce the weight by another 8 kilos.

Inside it maintains the unmistakable layout of the current Vantage, again offering the Sport Plu seatss completely finished in semi-aniline leather, with “wing” padding and punched design.
