Atomic Heart: Development has reached the long-awaited gold stage

Behind the atomic shell is a heart of gold: sooner or later the gold phase comes for everyone, and the development of Atomic Heart reaches the finish line

It took a long time, but the promising shooter Atomic Heart is close to the release: to sculpt the release date in marble is the announcement of the achievement of fase gold. To give the triumphal announcement are the publisher Focus Entertainment and the development team Mundfish. Day one, as we have learned by now, is confirmed: the game will be in our hands on February 21st. The arrival of the game is expected on (almost) all the main platforms: let’s talk, therefore, about PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One e PC. As troubled as the development was, talking about “in less than a month” seems almost surreal.

The pure gold of Atomic Heart: what to expect from a title in the gold phase

A few weeks ago, the development team talked about Atomic Heart to the foreign trade press, in preparation for the announcement of the aforementioned gold phase. “From the very beginning, we wanted to tell a story where progress and technology get out of control and talk about a fantastic story of the confrontation between man and machine.” Hence, the desire of the multinational team to “create an extraordinary and unique single-player game.” Unfortunately the multiplayer went a bit against the ambitious vision behind the project, but to overcome this renunciation, the developers focused on expanding the game via DLC.

Exploring the game world looks tempting, with a story set in one alternative version of the Soviet Union in 1955. The defeat of Nazi Germany took place, but with far greater human losses than seen in the real world. This has led to automated work and, of course, the hive mind typical of dystopian scenarios. The protagonist can connect to the shared knowledge, thus obtaining powers such as telekinesis and cryokinesis, paying the price for his sanity. The campaign lasts approx 25 oreand after years of waiting we would have expected nothing less from those who carry on the torch of Half-Life.
