The plot and cast of Beau Is Afraid
One thing is certain: Beau Is Afraid will not be a horror film. Ari Aster himself confessed it:
It may be a few movies before I get back to horror but I love horror and I’m sure I’ll be back to revisit it. Trauma will always have a place in my films.
But what will this new film be about then? Also in this case the rumors are very few. The film is in fact described simply as a “decades-long, intimate portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time”.
The rest of the cast that will support Joaquin Phoenix will be formed by Nathan Lanepreviously seen in Ostrich Feathers (1997); Stephen McKinley Hendersonfeatured in Dune (2021) and Patti LuPone recently seen in Last Christmas (2019). Also in the cast Amy Ryan of Gone Baby Gone (2017) which earned her the first Oscar nomination for best supporting actress and Parker Poseyapparsa in Scream 3 (2000) e Superman Returns (2006).
In short, a film shrouded in mystery; we’ll have to wait to find out more. After all, a few more months will have to pass before the release of Beau Is Afraid, scheduled forsummer of 2023.
