After 36 years, the sequel to a now cult film by Tim Burton is arriving, it’s Beetlejuice 2, now we know the plot
The news that many Tim Burton fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Indeed it seems that some details about the plot of the sequel to one of his greatest classics have been leaked online, with the evocative title Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The film is set for release on September 6th. Until now we only knew a few details about the great return of the legendary Piggy Spirit. But now the entire synopsis of the Beetlejuice sequel has been leaked online.
Plot and cast of Beetlejuice 2
The plot reports that, due to an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to the small town of Winter River, Vermont. So the psychic Lydia Deetz begins to see the demon that haunted her years before her, Beetlejuice. The little spirit is still determined to marry Lydia and return to the living and this time he seems to be in a particular hurry, since his ex-wife is hunting him in the afterlife. Meanwhile, Lydia’s teenage daughter begins a love affair with a boy she meets in Winter River.
Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine ‘O Hara return to play the same roles they played in 1988, while we will see Jenna Ortega take on the role of Lydia’s daughter. The cast will also feature Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s ex-wife. Rounding out the sequel’s diverse cast we also have Willem Dafoe as a zombie lawyer and Justin Theroux in an as yet unidentified role. After the plot details leaked, the hype for the sequel grew even more. The screenplay is written by the same writers who wrote the Netflix series Wednesday, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, while Burton’s historic collaborators include the legendary composer Danny Elfman.
