Benedict Cumberbatch is the protagonist of the first image of the new film by Jane Campion. The director, winner of the prize Oscar for the screenplay for Piano Lessons, which she directed, she returns behind the camera 12 years after Bright Star. He does so with The Power of the Dog, a western drama set in the 1920s in the state of Montana, in which the young widow Rose lives on a ranch with her young son and new husband, George. To make his life unstable, however, is Phil, George’s brother, violent and unpredictable.

The cast is composed, in addition to the already named Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Phil, by Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), Jesse Plemmons (Breaking Bad) e Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit). As already mentioned, the film will be in competition at the next Venice Film Festival, scheduled from 1 to 11 September. In addition, it will also pass from the New York Film Festival. There are hot months ahead for the protagonist Benedict Cumberbatch.
