Sales of Call of Duty Vanguard they did not go as well as those of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Activision has revealed some information about it. As regards the sales of Call of Duty Vanguard, Activision said that:
Although Call of Duty remains one of the most successful entertainment franchises of all time, the chapter released in 2021 did not meet our expectations, we believe mainly due to how we made the title. The setting of the game in World War II was not appreciated by some members of our community and we did not bring all the promised innovation into the game as we would like.
The study said it is paying close attention to addressing both of these issues with the 2022 version of Call of Dutywhich would be Modern Warfare 2.
The Modern Warfare series, set in the present day is known to be particularly popular and enjoyed by fans. Indeed Activision claimed that Modern Warfare of 2019 is the most successful Call of Duty game in video game history. The game is said to have sold more than 30 million copies.
