Markus Flasch succeeds Markus Schramm, who began his successful career in the BMW Group in 1991. Schramm becomes head of BMW Motorrad in 2018 and has led the brand to number one in the global premium motorcycle market, thanks to several record results. In 2022, BMW Motorrad delivered 202,895 motorcycles and scooters to customerssetting another sales record.
High performance and sustainability
The appointment of Markus Flasch represents a key step in the successful continuity of BMW Motorrad. The brand has successfully introduced the M division in the world of motorcycles, with high-performance models such as the M 1000 RR, the M 1000 R and the M 1000 XR. Furthermore, BMW Motorrad has expanded its offering with the launch of the R 18 family in the cruiser segment.
Under the leadership of Markus Schramm, BMW Motorrad has also embraced the sustainable mobility, introducing the fully electric CE 04 and dominating the electric two-wheel mobility segment with a power output of more than 11 kW worldwide. CE 02, another all-electric offering is expected in spring 2024. And from 2026, BMW Motorrad plans to electrify further segments of its product range.
