Cobra kai: the famous TV series is renewed by Netflix for one more season, the sixth and final season. Here are all the details
You got it right, now it’s official: Netflix decided on the fate that will touch the series Cobra Kai. The spin-off of The Karate Kid will end with a sixth and final season, which will hopefully make us completely lose our minds.
“Cobra Kai Never Dies”, but Netflix is enough. The streaming video service has just announced that it has renewed the sequel series of the Karate Kid franchise for a sixth season, which however will also be the last. But no more talk: below you will find the video announcement.
Cobra Kai will end with a sixth and final season
Netflix, the famous video streaming service spoke like this about the last season of the TV series Cobra Kai:
After five incredible seasons, the sixth season of Cobra Kai will be the last act. The epic conclusion to the decades-long saga is coming to Netflix soon.
The series followed the story of the eternal rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) e Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) who had clashed in the 1984 All Valley karate tournament and who in the series found themselves, first against each other again and then allies. In the fifth season, which arrived in streaming last September, the plans of the perfidious have materialized Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), eager to expand his Cobra Kai empire with his “No Mercy” style of karate. With Johnny Lawrence having (temporarily) put karate on hold to try to undo the damage it has caused, Daniel LaRusso turned to an old friend, former opponent Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto).
Will there be spin-offs? The official statements
The news of the cancellation of the series may seem like a cold shower for the fans, but in reality the creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz e Hayden Schlossberg have always stated that they have a 6-season long story in mind. Furthermore, in the past, the three showrunners had also proposed the possibility of further expanding the Karate Kid franchise with one or more Cobra Kai spin-offs and today they are back on the subject. In a letter to fans they wrote:
It was a great honor for us to let the world know the Karate Kid universe again. It allowed us to play sensei, expanding upon the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We have never taken this opportunity for granted. Our goal with Cobra Kai, since Day 1, has always been to finish it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and manner we always envisioned. While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger… We hope to be able to tell more Karate Kid stories with you in the future because as we all know, Cobra Kai never dies.
We just have to enjoy the sixth and final season of the TV series that has captured the hearts of millions of viewers around the globe. If there were any news, however, as always, we will keep you informed. In the meantime…stay tuned!
