Treyarch has confirmed via Twitter the release period of the ranked multiplayer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but there is no good news for fans: nothing before 2023
Modern Warfare 2 has officially arrived on the market for a while and has already grossed all the millions that the series has gotten us used to over time. The game was released on October 28th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and, despite all the diatribe that is currently going on between Sony and Microsoft for the acquisition of the latter of Activision Blizzard, the new Call of Duty is still a commercial success. The arrival of Warzone 2 during the month will also rekindle the spark of competitive multiplayer even more of one of the best-loved shooter series ever, but, for now, not ranked.
Through the official Twitter channel of Treyarch, in fact, The developers have confirmed that Ranked Multiplayer will arrive in Modern Warfare 2 in 2023. A rather large and vague time window that leaves fans who wanted to be able to face each other at higher levels right away. We leave you the official Tweet right below.

Nothing ranked in Modern Warfare 2, at least until 2023
And that’s not all: Treyarch also confirmed that Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard ranked competitive modes will be closed later this month. The company also stated that the success of these two competitive modes have helped in the development of Ranked Play within the company and its franchises, thus hinting at an innovation and an important impact regarding the new chapter of Call of Duty. We’ll see.
No ranked multiplayer for now, therefore, for all Call of Duty fans in Modern Warfare 2.
