Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion, the best Materia

Let’s see together, in this short guide, which are the best Materia to equip to our Zack in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion: yes, we know, everything is very situational, but there are some that are unquestionably more useful

Waiting for the second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project fielded by a Square Enix that has decided to give new life to one of the most loved chapters of its most loved franchise ever, he has arrived. Since the announcement of the Remake we knew it would be time to go back a little further, this time in HD. And we have to say that reliving Zack’s journey in Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII – Reunion was a blast from the past and a blow to the heart we expected, we admit it, but still exciting. We told you about it, in a rather detailed review, which you can find by clicking here. In this article, however, we want to go a little more technical.

The best Materia to get right away in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion

In this guide we want to find out which are the best Materia to equip to our Zack in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion. Let’s start with a premise: there is no piece of equipment that is actually more functional than another. Zack is a very versatile type, which lends itself very well to any build you want to choose for him. And the same goes for the Materia, whose sets must be appropriate to the moment you are living in and to the enemy you are facing. So what is the point of this guide? Well, some Materia are objectively useful right from the start. Let’s see them together.

The best Materia to defend and heal Zack | Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion, guide to the best Materia

One of Zack’s starting Materia is Energy. Simple, basic and, in the end, the most useful way to heal our poor Soldier from the extensive damage we will cause him to take. As soon as possible, our advice is to get your hands on Energira first, then on Energetic. The latter is the best Materia to restore Zack’s life, especially if you associate it with the Support Magic “Bimagic” (even more useful and functional than Megaene, because it allows you to recover all HP with only 52 MP, as opposed to the 64 MP required for the latter). You can fuse it immediately using a Fire Materia (also obtainable in Training Mission 1-1) and a Regen (which you can immediately purchase from the “The Happy Turtle” shop.

A particularly useful Materia, however, to protect Zack is Barrier, which halves physical damage received for 1 minute of time. For the cost of 16 MP, you can practically solve the problem of having to complete high-ranking sidequests at the beginning of the game. You can find Barrier in the “Happy Turtle” shop and in several side quests (4-1-5, 8-4-2, 9-1-3, 9-1-5). Finally, we also want to mention Matter Murathat halves physical and magical damage received for 1 minute of time. Very useful in any situation, especially if brought to the maximum degree, you can obtain it, as well as in various secondary missions (including 1-4-5, 1-4-6, 3-5-3, 4-5-1 and many others ) also by completing the side quest of the Wonders of Nibelheim.

If you are a collector and want to get them all, or you simply like to venture into the magical world of fusion of Materia, you will necessarily have to have the Materia in your hands Edge o Mugging. You will not be able to buy them anywhere, so it will be convenient for you to know, with the next few lines, how to get them. Before revealing it to you, however, we also suggest that you obtain the Thief’s glovesequipment that always allows you to get an item when using Steal or Snatch, and which you can get as a reward from missions 7-4-2 and 9-3-5, as well as from the shop in Sector 7.

You can get Steal Materia as a reward from missions 7-4-1 and 8-3-6. While Snatching (a sort of enhanced version that also allows you to damage enemies while robbing them) appears in mission 1-1-6. Simple isn’t it?

And then there’s her… Bimagia! | Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion, guide to the best Materia

Bimagic is a supporting Materiaa that Allows Zack to use two of his equipped spells consecutively, but doubling the MP cost. A small flaw the latter, indeed, but rather outclassed if you consider how quickly you can inflict massive damage or recover large amounts of HP. Be careful though: some magical Materia, such as Ultima, have no interaction with Bimagia. In any case, however, there are very powerful elemental spells that you can exploit.

There are three ways to get Bimagic. The first is to complete the side mission 9-4-1. The second is to find the Shadow Store during mission 9-5-4 and buy it for 30000 Gil. The third, the most difficult and random, is obtain it by stealing it from a Makonoide, but it is a rather rare drop and therefore we feel we advise against this option.
