Death Stranding 2 is in development and Norman Reedus confirms it

In recent days, in an interview with the well-known Leo newspaper, Norman Reedus confirmed that he was working on Death Stranding 2, as well as having disclosed some details on how he met Hideo Kojima

Death Stranding was undoubtedly one of the best games of 2019, like it or not like the genre. The release of its Director’s Cut version on PlayStation 5 made us try that undisputed thrill again, and we also talked about it in a more than detailed review (find it here!). Hideo Kojima, however, has never confirmed or denied the existence of a direct sequel to the story of Sam Porter Bridges, while Norman Reedus, the actor who gave life to the amazing interpretation of the protagonist of Death Stranding, spoke about it several times. Already in August 2021, Reedus had given fans a lot of hope for a sequel and, in the past few hours, the definitive confirmation.

In an interview with Leo released a few days ago, in fact, when the journalist asked him questions about what it was like to shoot for Death Stranding and Hideo Kojima, Reedus would have replied “We have just started [a girare] The second one”. To which we moved on to discuss how he got the role of Sam, a story that begins with a phone call from Guillermo del Toro:

Guillermo del Toro, the one who hired me for my first film, called me and said “Hey, there’s this guy named Hideo Kojima, he’ll call you. you say yes ”, to which I replied“ What do you mean say yes? ”, and he“ Don’t be a bitch, just say yes.

Norman Reedus confirms Death Stranding 2: the sequel is in development!

Reedus then continued:

Then, while I was in San Diego, Hideo came up with a large group of people, he’s from Tokyo, and he told me about a game he was working on, Silent Hill. I was blown away by what he was showing me and I said “Ok, let’s do it”. It’s not Ms. Pacman, it was so realistic, so futuristic, so complicated and fascinating, and I was blown away. […]

Then, speaking of Death Stranding:

It took us about two or three years to finish all the Motion Capture sessions and everything else. It really takes a lot of work. And then the game came out, it won all those awards and it was a big hit, so we started part two.

While there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Kojima Productions or Sony, prior to this confirmation from Norman Reedus on the development of Death Stranding 2 there had been many other clues, launched by the Game Director himself, over the years. And leaving all that aside, it is very likely that the title is in the very early stages of development, and that therefore we will really talk about it in a long time.
