A Christmas Special from the Artists of the Treat: Devolver Digital Announces Another Public Access Holiday Special for Winter 2022
The most eccentric publisher on US soil is about to make an encore with the2022 edition of Devolver Digital Public Access Holiday Special. The satirical tone has remained the same as always, but the leading indie publisher intends to echo the Big N with a presentation of its own, keeping the verve intact between the candor of the winter solstice and the usual irreverent vein (in a way, ironically, not unlike James Gunn’s youngest). We can expect, between a dig at the noble Triple A gaming industry and the other, various news about upcoming and recently released games.

Although the indies under the wing of Devolver Digital have denied it proper recognition among the top publishers, it must also be said that (according to past trends) we can expect real champions from this Public Access Holiday Special. The publisher has in fact released works of the caliber of Gris, Death’s Door and Inscryption. Only this year the counter-current indie house has released Cult of the Lamb and Return to Monkey Island, two of the most loved games of 2022. And, coincidentally, both have appeared in presentations set up by the publisher exactly like the one that awaits us.

The previous showcase was less elaborate than the E3 performances, but kept the same comic vein as always. As you see in the tweet above, we can expect tomorrow a live full of announcements. The description of the upcoming presentation alluded to news about Cult of the Lamb, Stick it to the Stickman, Terra Nil, Anger Foot and Skate Story, plus “a bundle of games either coming this year or coming next”. And with a promise of “a completely ordinary and not at all over the top Christmas special” to conclude the aforementioned description, we already know that we will see some good ones.
