Ducati Panigale, ecco la versione SP2 per chi non si accontenta della "base" V4 thumbnail

Ducati Panigale, here is the SP2 version for those who are not satisfied with the “base” V4

Ducati presented its latest novelty for this early 2022 version with SP2 of his Panigale V4an even more premium and racing version of the Bolognese hypersport.

The Panigale V4 (S) is already a pure marvel of technology, a factory of sensations at the service of pure efficiency on a lap. But when you think you have all the know-how of the Italian brand in one bike, Ducati always finds a way to add a little spice and go even further in terms of exclusivity and performance. The different generations of Superleggera are the demonstration pushed to the pinnacle, and this second generation of SP is too, albeit to a lesser extent.

Designed for all those who want something more than the standard Panigale, the SP2 is an equipped and racing version that incorporates all the innovations introduced on the new generation of Panigale V4 in terms of aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis and electronics.

It then adds a number of design elements, starting with a pair of carbon top rims with 5 perforated spokes, 1.4 kg lighter than forged aluminum rims of the Panigale V4 S, features that considerably reduce inertia and improve agility and lightness when changing direction.

Ducati Panigale SP2 V4, better is difficult to have

The engine has also been improved 1,103 cc Desmosecidi Stradale V4 from MotoGP with the introduction of different solutions. For example, on the SP2 debuts a new engine mapping that brings the power to 215.5 CV a 13.000 giri / min, with an increase of 1.5 HP compared to the Panigale V4 of 2021.

Braking for its part is enhanced by Brembo Stylema R calipers, the top of the range from the Stezzano house. Calipers that are combined with a radial pump Brembo MCS (Multiple Click System) which allows you to easily adjust the pitch on three configurations. Small detail that makes the difference: even the brake and clutch levers are milled at the ends to reduce air resistance. The final drive has been lightened thanks to a 520 pitch chain and the dry clutch STM-EVO SBK more efficient than the oil bath clutch of the Panigale V4 S.

Also noteworthy is the arrival of Rizoma adjustable footpegs made of anodized aluminum, with carbon fiber heel protectors. And to analyze the best lap, the GPS module and the Ducati Data Analyzer, offered as an option on the “base” Panigale, are supplied as standard here. By loading the Slick Ducati Performance software (available as an option), Ducati Traction Control cornering for slick and wet tires was expressly developed. Added to this is the possibility of memorizing the coordinates of five different tracks. Plus you get five more fully customizable driving modes.

It should be emphasized that two kilos are gained on the scale compared to the Panigale V4, i.e. a dry weight of 173 kg is obtained. The price? It is necessary to take into account to spend € 39,490 for this SP2 in the superb “Winter Test” livery, obviously in a single-seater configuration.
