The data of the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo 2023 or E3 may be at risk of deletion. After Nintendo, Microsoft and recently Ubisoft announced that they will not participate in the show, Andy Robinson of VGC said it does not bode “good news” in this regard. “It’s often difficult to separate fact from conjecture about E3, but I’m not surprised that we don’t hear good things about this event. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it gets canceled this weekbut I hope that’s not the case. I am so sorry to those who have done the most to make this show possible,” Robinson commented on Twitter. Frontier Developments manager Hollie Bennett said it was a “shame because grabbing stage seats to present has gotten really cheap and it’s crazy how prices have gone down lately. There are also some very good plans in the works. This year really looks like aexcellent opportunity for the return of E3“.

Though Robinson hopes the event will play out and was initially “very positive,” he said the general feeling at the moment is that there is “too much mistrust about it“. This year’s fair is organized by ReedPop, known for events like C2E2, EGX, New York Comic Con, PAX East, and more, instead of the Entertainment Software Association. ReedPop has not responded to Ubisoft’s withdrawal from the show or provided any indication of its potential cancellation.
The month of June will still be full of videogame events. The Summer Game Fest returns on June 9, while theXbox Games Showcase and it Starfield Direct are scheduled for June 11.
