The Italian series with Federico Cesari, Everything asks for salvation, will return to streaming soon with season 2, officially confirmed by Netflix
There will be a second season of Everything asks for salvation. With a photo shared on their social profiles, Netflix announces that the Italian series based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Daniel Mencarelli has returned to production. The news follows further five months before the publication of the appreciated inaugural cycle, also reviewed by our editorial staff. About Everything asks for salvation, no further details are available at the moment. The image, shared on Netflix’s Instagram social profile, shows only the script of the first episode, written by the co-creators Francesco Bruni and Daniela Gambaro together with Mencarelli himself.
For those unfamiliar with it, Everything asks for salvation follows SKAM Italia star Federico Cesari as Daniele Cenni, a twenty-year-old with an excess of sensitivity who, after a psychotic break, wakes up in the dormitory of a psychiatric ward, together with five unlikely roommates with whom he thinks he has nothing in common, pressured by doctors who want to rummage in his brain and looked after by nurses who seem cynical and disinterested. Does ending up under the TSO regimen for seven days mean being crazy? Daniele wonders at the beginning of a week that seems endless. But what seems like a sentence slowly turns into one of the most intense and formative experiences of his life.
There will be a season 2 of Everything asks for salvation: where were we?
At the end of the first season, Daniele had been discharged with a diagnosis of major depression for which he was prescribed to see a psychotherapist. Outside, he and Nina (Fotinì Peluso), an influencer and former high school classmate hospitalized in the women’s ward after attempting suicide, to whom he had approached, they had a nasty discussion, but then she revealed to him that she was pregnant. Furthermore, Daniele had said goodbye to one of his fellow prisoners, Mario (Andrew Pennacchi), did not survive a fall from a window.
