After the official reveal of the FIFA 22 trailer, we learn that, if you buy a copy for PS4 or Xbox One and want to upgrade for the next gen, it will not be completely free
The first trailer for FIFA 22 was recently unveiled by EA Sports, and thanks to it, a series of features of the game that fans will surely expect, starting from the technology HyperMotion to improve animations. However, just as happened with Battlefield 2042, fans of the FIFA 22 they will have to pay extra if they want to make a upgrade of the title from the old to the new generation. Let’s see how it works below, so as to have a more precise idea of what awaits us.
FIFA 22: here’s how you can upgrade
Taking a look first at the pages of the Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store, we can see how the standard edition for the next gen of the title will cost, at launch, 69,99€. However, if you happen to buy the title on PS4 or Xbox One, and in the future you have the desire to switch to playing the next gen, this will be feasible, as far as FIFA 22 is concerned, only if you have bought the Ultimate edition, which will cost a whopping € 99.99. This happens because it was decided that the programma Dual Entitlement, which is used to upgrade the titles from old to next gen, is accessible only with this edition.
Once FIFA 22 is upgraded, the progress of Ultimate Team and Volta will be transferred and shared from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X / S, allowing players to play where they want as needed. However, all progress made in Co-op Seasons, Online Seasons, Pro Clubs and Career Mode will not carry over.
FIFA 22 will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. There will also be a FIFA 22 Legacy Edition available on Nintendo Switch.
