Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2: Hamaguchi reveals details

Naoki Hamaguchi, in a recent interview with The Washington Post, revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will inherit some features of Intergrade

Final Fantasy VII Remake is undoubtedly one of the best titles of 2020 and we have carefully told you about it in a long-winded review, which you can find by clicking here. It has recently been updated in its Intergrade version, designed for PlayStation 5, which also saw the first DLC dedicated to Yuffie arrive and which, in addition to a completely new section, has added some interesting gameplay mechanics. We also know that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 (working title, of course) is in development, but it is very likely that we will not have any news in the short term. Except for some details that are gradually revealed.

For example, in a recent interview with The Washington Post, the director of Part 2, Naoki Hamaguchi, revealed some details about the title in development. In particular, Hamaguchi referred to some of the mechanics introduced in the game thanks to the Intergrade update and, more specifically, to combo moves using Yuffie and Sonon, which appears to have a sequel within Part 2 as well.

Hamaguchi and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2: what elements will be taken up by Intergrade?

Hamaguchi specifically stated:

With “Intermission” we have also introduced another element: the combo moves of Yuffie and Sonon, which add even more depth to the strategy during the fights. I would like to introduce them, along with other elements we tested in “Intermission”, also in our next story.

Meanwhile, Intergrade is available for digital purchase, Final Fantasy VII Remake looks to be coming to PC as well, and Part 2 is in development. In short, Square Enix really focuses a lot on the title and we are not surprised, considering how well it has been received (despite the perplexities of many about the ending).
