The second edition of the International Biennial of Female Photography will take place in Mantua, from March 3 to 27, 2022. Reportedly, FUJIFILM was appointed official sponsor of the event. The artistic direction of Alessia Locatelliwith the support of the Municipality of Mantua and the Province of Mantua.

FUJIFILM has always supported projects a support of the culture of the imageas well as initiatives focused on female figure. For a somewhat natural bond, FUJIFILM Italia has been at the side of the Mantua Female Photography Biennial since the very beginning: an event in which combines photography and thefemale expression.
The reflection of this special edition revolves around Legacy, a term that summarizes several concepts. First of all it means Legacy, Legacy to be passed on to future generations. In the age we are living in, full of changes, we must measure ourselves with what has been left to us and then act with this legacy in the present. The goal is to create a strong and balanced future.
The BFF 2022 presents major exhibitions of Italian photographers e international and numerous other corollary initiatives.
In a society where still there is no full gender equality and whose story is told mainly by a male gaze, female photography is also almost always underrepresented and too often stereotyped.
The BFF aims to become a solid point of reference, in Italy and internationally. He wants to raise awareness as much as possible about the equality issues, equality e freedom of expression. At the same time, it hopes to offer an opportunity for the above categories, professional and non-professional, to participate in the world of contemporary art.
Many of the photographers present in Mantua exhibit for the first time in a solo exhibition in Italy; this aspect underlines the important cultural and research work carried out by BFF. On top of that, FUJIFILM and BFF 2022 will also celebrate the International Women’s Rights Day.
Similarly, FIJIFILM will also sponsor an extraordinary opening of the Biennale. Tuesday 8 March 2022, with open all day from 10 to 18it will be possible free access to the exhibitions hosted at the Casa del Mantegna.
