Fujifilm Corporation announces the launch of Fujifilm XApp, a new app for use with X-Series and GFX digital cameras . The app will be available free of charge for download from May 25, 2023 and is an evolution of Fujifilm Camera Remote, the previous app that connected the camera to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi to allow remote shooting, transfer and viewing of images.
Fujifilm XApp, the new app for X-Series and GFX digital cameras
With Fujifilm XApp, the wireless communications are more stable and faster, to offer you an optimal user experience. During a photo shoot, users can check the live view on a smartphone/tablet and operate the camera remotely. After taking photos, the app allows you to view not only the transferred images, but also information about the shot. Such as the camera model and lens used and the location of the photo shoot.
All communication operations can only be done from the smartphone or tablet, except for the first Bluetooth pairing between the camera and the app. This makes it easier and simpler to use the app for a better shooting experience.
In addition to Live View, there is the new feature “Backup/Restore“. Users can save camera settings in the app, such as shooting menu and setup menu, and restore them later.
The app also lets you manage your preferred camera settings for different subjects or shooting situations. Making the job much easier.
The function Activity automatically shows cumulative information about captured photos. Chronology collects and displays information about photos, such as type of camera and lens used, number of shots, location and more in a photo diary format. XApp also notifies users when there is a new firmware update for the associated camera.
