GoPro Hero 12 Black raises the bar again for the action camera market.
It does so while maintaining the compact format that has always characterized it but improving stabilization, finally offering HDR videos and dedicating a series of functions to professionals, including the GP-log.
But let’s go in order and find out features and price of GoPro Hero 12 Black.

Let’s start right from the price. Unchanged. 449,99 € as for the previous model, with the Creator Edition which instead is positioned at 679,99 €.
The market also comes Max Lens Mod 2.0for sale at 109,99 €or 87.99 and for GoPro subscribers.
GoPro Hero 12 Black è available for pre-order from today on the official website, as well as the Max Lens Mod 2.0. From 13 September, however, you will find it in stores and it will be available for direct purchase.

The news
GoPro Hero 11 Black it was already an excellent product. So what did the company do to improve an already excellent action camera?
First of all it has increased autonomy, which doubles compared to the previous model.
GoPro Hero 12 Black should therefore give us 70 minutes of footage in 5.3K at 60fps and 58 minutes in 4K at 120fps. The time available goes up by varying resolution and frame rate so let’s get to 90 minuti in 5,3K a 30 fps e a ben 155 minuti in FullHD a 30 fps. Of course with the HyperSmooth – GoPro’s stabilization system – active.
And it’s just theHyperSmooth one of the new features of Hero 12 Black. We arrive at version 6.0 which now benefits fromAutoboost: essentially the scene is analyzed with a frequency four times higher than in the past and the GoPro algorithms are able to guarantee the widest possible field of view based on what is happening at that moment. In short, the crop is reduced without losing stability.
We also have 360° horizon lock for even more stable and exciting shots.
They debut this year too photos and videos in HDR and the possibility of record video vertically even when GoPro Hero 12 Black is mounted horizontally. This is thanks to a change in the controls which now helps you to easily choose between horizontal, vertical and FullView format which takes full advantage of the 8:7 sensor of this action cam.
The newcomer introduces the GP-log with a set of LUTs that allow color grading professionals to achieve the desired result; more comes Bluetooth support for devices such as microphones and headphones which can be used for vlogging or even voice commands allowing you to operate the Hero 12 Black.
There are then new effects for night photography such as Light Painting or Star Trails to have incredible shots even at night while Interval Photo allows you to capture images at a preset time interval.
Finally, it updates the Max Lens Mod 2.0the module that widens the field of view and what time it is twice as resistant to scratches of its predecessor.
What has remained the same?
We find again naturally the same design, the same strength to scratches and bumps, the ability to immersion up to 33 feet (about 10 meters) and the aforementioned 8:7 sensor, with the ability to take 27-megapixel photos or take 24.7-megapixel shots directly from video.
Change though the thread which is now 1/4-20making GoPro’s latest action camera compatible with most accessories and mounts.
Then there is the recording in 5.3K at a maximum of 60 fps and that in 4K at 120 fps with a slow-mo that can reach 8x at 2.7K.
New accessories
Along with Hero 12 Black, they also come a new waterproof extendable pole which goes from 10 to 120 inches and is designed to marry with the new thread proposed by GoPro. Then there are a series of appendices included in the package which make it compatible with all the other action cameras of the brand.
Also available a new remote that allows you to remotely control the Hero 12 Black, 11 Black, 11 Black Mini and 10 Black.
