Here is a guide with all the tips and tricks to fight like a true rock star in the brand new Hi-Fi Rush
The brand new Tango Gameworks title came like a bolt from the blue that tore through the community of gamers from all over the world, collecting an incredible number of acclaim in just a few days. A truly remarkable fact, especially if you consider that the game was announced and launched by surprise during the Developer Direct last January 25th, without any kind of advertising campaign before the release. A bet, that of Microsoft and Bethesda, which however can be said to be truly successful. If you too have dived headlong into this new colorful adventure, here is a guide with tips and tricks to excel in Hi-Fi Rush combat.
Rhythm, Combos and Rock’N’Roll!
The adventure of Chai and associates is obviously studded with numerous fights. At first glance, the latter seem to wink at the classic action genres, such as Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, but with an important distinctive trait: the rhythm. Yes, because the title mixes rhythm game mechanics cleverly embedded in the gameplay, which, if properly mastered, will allow us to dominate the battlefield and knock out all the enemies with the immortal Rock’N’Roll style. Let’s take a look at some useful techniques.
Seeing the beat – Hi-Fi Rush: Rock’N’Roll, tips and tricks
In a similar way to what also happens in other famous action games, the combat system of Hi-Fi Rush is finished with a whole series of important details that we will help you master with the tips and tricks in this guide. Given the nature of the game, most of the latter are obviously related to musical rhythm. The game world is built and animated in such a way as to constantly provide you with indications on the beat to follow, but if you want, by pressing the View button on the Xbox controller, you can bring up a classic time indicator at the bottom of the screen, similar to the one present in many rhythm games.
Even more than the opponents in the game, the most treacherous enemy you may find yourself dealing with is audio latency. In a nutshell, we have to make sure that the video and audio signals are perfectly synchronized (we are talking about milliseconds but in this kind of game they can really make a difference), or we risk finding ourselves unable to get the correct timing right. If you notice that, despite being in time, the game continues to warn you that you are late (or early), you could try adjusting the latency from the settings. Many TVs also feature low latency audio/video modes so you might also want to try looking at your TV’s options to find the optimum setting.
Feel my beat! – Hi-Fi Rush: Tricks, Tips and Rock’N’Roll
Having ascertained that to KO the enemies that appear in front of you in Hi-Fi Rush you will have to use your rhythmic skills, here are some tricks and tips that you can use to ring perfect combos. First of all, keep in mind that some combinations work best on single opponents, while others are more effective when the enemy lines start to get crowded. We strongly advise you not to underestimate the two starting combos, respectively called Tremolo and Breakdown.
Tremolo is done with the YXX key combination, and is a pretty effective attack when dealing with single targets. It is also useful for quickly raising the combo counter so it is advisable not to neglect it, when possible. Breakdown, on the other hand, is much better suited for keeping multiple enemies at bay at once, and can also help you in situations where they tend to surround you. To execute it, simply use the XY Y key combination. An in-game tutorial will then explain how to throw enemies to knock them out and gain a nice advantage (you will have to press the light attack key with the right timing, then wait for a moment and finally press it again two more times). However, it is a technique to be used at the right time to maximize the effects obtained.
You Can’t Catch Me – Hi-Fi Rush: Tricks, Tips and Rock’N’Roll
Attacking is important, but so is avoiding the enemy offensive. We could therefore not fail to include some tips and tricks regarding dodging in Hi-Fi Rush, to which several interesting tricks are linked. First of all you must know that if you synchronize with the beat you can obtain various benefits: dodging in time in fact allows you to keep the combo counter high even if there are no enemies to attack and will also give you the possibility to dodge up to three times consecutively.
Regardless, however, we advise you to get used to dodging in time as much as possible, as this will also provide you with a nice advantage against some of the more powerful enemies, given that often the most dangerous attacks of the latter will be easily avoidable if you let yourself be guided by the musical beat. Finally, keep in mind that, thanks to dodging, you can interrupt the combos, but also and above all eliminate the recovery time that normally follows the last attack of the latter.
