Hideo Kojima: Check out a photo of the Summer Game Fest card

Hideo Kojima’s teases have never been so explicit: now the game designer proudly holds a Summer Game Fest badge

The ferment that precedes theE3 it’s tangible, as you may have noticed from our patter with the Smash weekend event, but now Hideo Kojima has seen fit to pour gasoline on the fire of the Summer Game Fest. This year, the E3 replacement much wanted by Geoff Keighley (mind behind the Game Awards) during last year’s pandemic hiatus will proceed side by side with the original, and the first event (“Kickoff”) will mark the start of the summer frenzy. It is no coincidence, therefore, that the legendary game designer wanted to smile at us holding a badge for VIP access.

Metal Gear Summer Game Fest

We do not know whether to expect who knows what announcement “only” two years ago Death Stranding, but Hideo Kojima’s personal assistant shared on Twitter a photo of the boss holding a Summer Game Fest card. Making two and two is very simple, in reality: if nothing else, it is practically certain that the visionary game designer will be at least present at the event. We would not know in which capacity, but in the case of announcements well in advance we will know which title will leave us for months in search of the most skimpy clue. We leave you to consult the post in peace.

You will all know that Kojima is also the mind behind Metal Gear Solid, and that the legendary designer has always aimed to bring innovation to the gaming industry with his love for cinematic experiences. Not all of his ideas take hold, as happened on the Game Boy Advance with the unfortunate Boktai, but this does not prevent him from finding himself in the spotlight. Lately, Ayako/“Touchy” (the assistant) caused a sensation for catching Kojima in the middle of a lunch break with the Sony sign in plain sight. We hope to know by the weekend if the balance is tipping towards PlayStation or Xbox.
