IIDEA launches Press Start, the first appointment for students who dream of working in the video game industry

IIDEA, the association representing the video game industry in Italy, will launch this year his first initiative dedicated to students interested in finding a professional outlet in the video game industry. In the last 2 years the 35% of companies have hired new staff, the 59% plans to do so in the next two years. The sector is able to generate professional opportunities especially for the younger generations (79% of employees are under the age of 36) and in different fields with great added value in terms of specialized skills, such as technology, art and design , as well as management and support.

Working in the video game industry: where to start? What career opportunities does the sector offer? What skills are required for the different roles? How to apply for the first time for a position? We will try to answer these and other questions during the two days in which it will be possible to get in touch with those who work in the sector, meet the main Italian video game development studios e submit their works to a specialized jury.

The event will be divided into three different macro-activities: talk, matchmaking e award. The conferences, held by professionals from the Italian industry, will analyze the different production areas: programming, production, game design, narrative design, art direction, QA and testing, music and sound effects and marketing and communication.
