LG presents its new high-efficiency HVAC solutions at ISH 2023. The company previewed the new THERMA V R290 heat pump and the high energy efficiency VRF system MULTI V i
LG Electronics (LG) presents the latest solutions for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). This happened on the occasion of the International Fair dedicated to air conditioning, renewables and energy saving technologies (ISH) 2023, underway in Frankfurt (Germany) until 17 March. LG’s stand hosts, in two dedicated areas, technological solutions for the residential and commercial sector; responding perfectly to the demand for high performance and high energy efficiency that characterizes European countries.
The new HVAC solutions presented at ISH 2023 by LG
Due to increasingly stringent environmental regulations and natural gas shortages, the European HVAC market has changed. It has seen growing interest in heat pump air conditioning systems that can reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. In 2019, the European Union announced its “European Green Deal” policy, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. While last year it announced the “REPowerEU” plan to expand the use of energy renewables by 2030. And thus reduce energy consumption and dependence on fossil fuels.
Details on the new HVAC solutions presented at ISH 2023 by LG
Reflecting current market trends, LG’s HVAC products showcased at ISH 2023 demonstrate the quality and value that have made the company one of the industry’s major players. In the area dedicated to residential solutions, visitors can explore various solutions designed for private homes. Among which:
- air-to-water heat pumps using low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants,
- heat recovery units for ventilation (ERV),
- water heaters and Energy Storage (ESS) and Building Energy Control (BECON) solutions for intelligent energy management.
In particular, on the occasion of ISH, made its world debut THERMA VTM R290 for residential applications. This new air-to-water heat pump uses R290 environmentally friendly refrigerant. Characterized by a GWP of 3, much lower than that of the refrigerants commonly used in heating solutions. It offers outstanding heating performance too in the coldest months of the year.
LG THERMA V
The high-efficiency heat pumps of the LG THERMA V series are gaining wide popularity in the European market. Advanced technologies and practical energy saving functions. LG’s extraordinary heat pumps have seen sales increase by more than 120% in the last year. In most of the European countries where the company operates in the HVAC sector, including France and Germany, sales of LG heat pumps more than doubled in 2022. LG THERMA V products use outside air to generate energy for the cooling and heating. With a significant increase in operational efficiency. LG Therma V in fact uses 75% of thermal energy obtained from the air and only 25% of electricity. Thus helping families reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.
VRF) MULTI VTM i
Visitors to the area of the stand dedicated to commercial solutions can, on the other hand, discover the new MULTI VTM i variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system. The new product integrates Artificial Intelligence to improve energy savings up to 24.7%2. Thanks to the AI Smart Care function, it uses data relating to usage habits and data relating to the external temperature to adjust the cooling and heating power. MULTI V i also makes use of the AI Indoor Space Care function to help maintain a uniform indoor temperature. Automatically turning on the indoor units in a certain area when people are detected and turning them off again when they leave.
