In the past few hours, Hazelight Studios has shared via twitter the incredible number of copies sold reached by It Takes Two: ten million!
It Takes Two, game of the year 2021 for much of the press (and for The Game Awards), continues to run on the heels of success despite the fact that quite some time has already passed since its launch. It may be that it also recently arrived on Nintendo Switch (our review here!), but the title of Hazelight Studios continues to sell disproportionately. If you then consider that It Takes Two allows you to share your copy with a friend, to play in two with a single “disc” (good times!), it is very likely that many players have played it anyway, without having purchased it.
Through a Tweet, the developers have once again expressed their gratitude for the new milestone reached by the game: ten million copies sold. An incredibly high figure, if we consider the fact that we are not talking about a AAA with an exorbitant budget, and that it is “only” the second video game created by Hazelight Studios (after A Way Out). It Takes Two breaks a new record for copies sold
It Takes Two follows the story of Cody and May, a couple about to divorce, transformed into dolls because of the desire of the daughter, shaken by the not exactly happy family situation. The two will have to overcome a myriad of environmental puzzles by helping each other and trying to rebuild a relationship that, over time, had been shattered. A title universally recognized, both by the public and by the critics, as valid from every point of view. And yes, we loved it too!
Ten million copies sold for It Takes Two, while Hazelight Studios is currently working on the next project: what an achievement.
