Through a press release, the LEGO group announced that it has started a new collaboration to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Rolling Stones Band: let’s find out all the details and the new set together
After Pokémon Arceus Legends, Star Wars and Back to the Future, the LEGO group unties (haha!) From movies and video games and goes straight to music. To celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the Band, in fact, the new set dedicated to The Rolling Stones has been launched, to allow all fans to give voice to their passion for music and dive into the construction of the famous tongue. “The most rock’n’roll set ever!”, That’s how the LEGO group defined it in the press release. The bright red lips and tongue, known around the world as the Rolling Stones logo, become brick-built to thrill fans of the band and construction.
The set reproduces the famous logo, which appeared for the first time in the Sticky Fingers album, and is made up of 1998 pieces capable of reviving the excitement of concerts and all the songs of one of the most famous bands in history, which this year celebrates 60 years of career. During the construction of the set, with dimensions of 57 cm x 47 cm, fans can let themselves be carried away by almost an hour of audio content, with the most famous songs of the group, and an exclusive interview with the legendary John Pasche, the graphic designer who he made the tongue for the Rolling Stones in 1970. Also, to amaze the most careful builders, some goodies have been hidden among the bricks to be discovered!
LEGO The Rolling Stones Art Set: 1998 pieces of pure Rock!
Fiorella Groves, Design Manager of the LEGO Group, said about the set:
Considering that the tongue is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world, our biggest challenge was figuring out how we could make it, making it as similar as possible to the original. Previous sets of the Art line were created with 1 × 1 round bricks, just like a mosaic. But this time, to be more Rock ‘n’ Roll, we used the full range of LEGO bricks to highlight all the lines John created. Seeing his reaction to the final project made me super happy!
The Rolling Stones LEGO Art set will be available from 1 June in LEGO Stores and on LEGO.com and in the best toy stores for € 149.99.
