LEGO adds another cult vehicle to its car portfolio: LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van, which, complete with pop-top roof with tent, is ready for endless summer road adventures
The new LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van draws inspiration from its namesake from the late 60s and 70s and takes the place of the beloved previous version of the LEGO Creator Expert Volkswagen T1 Camper Van – an upgrade that sees the addition of many new features. The new set is even bigger and stands out for the new color, a sliding door, the characteristic T2 mark wrapping the Baywindow front windshield and a new but unmistakable ‘muzzle’.
The detailed interior of the Van has working steering and is also fully equipped for many adventures on the road, with opening lockers, fridge, sink and a gas stove with a teapot. Beach lovers will be delighted: the set, in fact, also features folding chairs and, of course, a surfboard. Finally, the folding rear seat transforms into a comfortable seat, ideal for admiring the starry sky.

Volkswagen campers have always been synonymous with customization and the LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van set is proof of this, thanks to a set of stickers to decorate the model, which includes retro decals and a choice of German or US license plates. The LEGO designer Sven Franic commented:
The Volkswagen Camper is a rare vehicle that arouses nostalgia like few others! We are confident that the LEGO version will bring a lot of fun both to people who have been lucky enough to have one or to go camping there, and to those who have always wanted it. While the Volkswagen Camper is already in our LEGO car collection, this latest version will bring even more satisfaction to LEGO builders. The meticulously equipped interior will charm all seasoned campers and adventurers, while the eye-catching exterior with the retractable roof is an engineering feat just like the original vehicle.
The LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van will be available from 1 August 2021 in the LEGO stores and on the official website at the price of 159,99 €. From January 2022, however, it will also be available in the best toy stores.
