Lexus’ smallest crossover, the UX Hybrid with model year 2023 is updated with a new chassis, new infotainment system and a new exclusive setting, called “DESIGN”.
Lexus added 20 welds to the body of the UX to increase stiffness by recalibrating the electric power steering and shock absorbers. In addition, the urban crossover, as Lexus calls it, uses Bridgestone’s new 18-inch run-flat tires to reduce noise and vibration.
The new infotainment system with standard 8-inch screen or optional 12.3-inch screenand, higher resolution than the old version and more connectivity. The Apple CarPlay (wireless connection) and Android Auto (wired connection) systems make their debut and the with voice assistant support. The space of the center console where the multimedia trackpad was located now houses the controls for the heated front seats or, where these are not present, a small and convenient storage compartment. The console also features an illuminated shelf in front of the air conditioning control panel, with space to hold a large smartphone.
UX is equipped with the Lexus Safety System + 2.5 safety package with ADAS advanced driver assistance functionality as already proposed in the NX. System features include cruise control, cornering speed control, emergency steering assistance, lane keeping assistance and front collision warning.
Lexus UX Hybrid 2023, the DESIGN set-up arrives
The new “DESIGN” set-up in both 2WD and 4WD versions enters the UX range. It is based on the F SPORT exterior style and makes it unique through a design bitone. This provides six tints available in combination with a contrasting black roof.
Its presence on the road is reinforced by the hourglass F SPORT grille, characterized by an L-shaped texture, finished in black with a chrome frame for the lower part that accentuates the proportions of the car. Lor the same reason is present in the frames that house the fog lights and the cornering lights in the front bumper with contrasting L-shaped chrome bezels. The rear bumper also has an F SPORT specific design, with glossy black roof spoiler and specific moldings around the headlights.
The 18-inch F SPORT alloy wheels have a 10-spoke design and a dark metallic finish.
Other elements of the DESIGN version include seat upholstery in synthetic leather, heated front seats, dual zone automatic climate control with Nanoe-X system, reversing camera. There is no shortage of automatic wipers, LED headlights with automatic high beams. Added to these are black wheel arch moldings and Lexus “F” badges and the new multimedia system with 8 ”display.
Four total productions
The 4 set-ups planned they start from the URBAN “base”available exclusively with 2WD drive, which comes standard with a very complete equipment including the new multimedia system with 8 ”display, smart entry, electrochromic rearview mirror and wireless caricatures.
The preparations follow, F SPORT e LUXURY, equipped with Lexus Link Pro multimedia system with 12-inch display. The Luxury version adds the Mark Levinson Premium Sound System. The F SPORT version will be available in both 2WD and 4WD, while the LUXURY version will be exclusively in the 4WD version.
The engine of the UX Full Hybrid Electric does not change, l’UX 250h with 2.0-liter system that develops 184 hp / 135 kW.
The new Lexus UX Hybrid 2023 range starts from a list of € 41,500 for the URBAN version. The crossover is already available for order, and the first deliveries are scheduled for September 2022.
