In the past few hours the film production Focus Features has released online the official trailer of the film Lisa Frankenstein; the director’s first work Zelda Williams. Daughter of the much loved actor Robin Williams, it represents a real debut behind the camera, together with the collaboration of the screenwriter Diablo Cody (already known for having written the films Juno, Jennifer’s Body, the remake of The House and Dove we were left).
A modern dark romantic comedy, scheduled in American theaters on February 9th. Here is the official trailer.
Lisa Frankenstein: details on the new film directed by Zelda Williams
As can be seen from the official trailer released, Lisa Frankenstein directed by Zelda Williams; draws inspiration from the famous novel di Mary Shelley. In a fresher and more modern version, the film is set in 1989, focusing on the story of a young, somewhat marginalized teenager (played by the actress Kathryn Newton), determined to bring back to life the corpse of the boy she is in love with (played by Cole Sprouse).
However, after a series of ambiguous and gruesome circumstances, the two will begin a murderous journey to find love, happiness and… some missing body parts!
In addition to the aforementioned protagonists Newton and Sprouse; they will also be part of the cast Carla GuginoJenna Davis, Liza Soberano, Geraldine Singer, Donna Duplantier, Charlie Talbert, Paola Andino, Joey Harris and Trina LaFargue.
