After announcing it at Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live, 2K unveiled the first gameplay trailer dedicated to Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a new strategic title starring the characters of the house of ideas. The title will be made by Firaxis Games, famous developers of Civilization and the latest XCOM titles. The strategic imprint of the battles has remained intact even in this new title, which however will present an unprecedented combat system based on cards.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the first gameplay shows us a card-based system
The new trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns showed us several aspects of gameplay of the game. Skills to be used in battle will be handled entirely by a unique deck of cards for each character. Each turn will draw a few cards, up to a maximum of six per hand, to be used on your turn to make the typical attacks of the Marvel heroes or use support skills. In combat you can use up to three heroes at a time and you can also use the environment to do further damage to enemies. However, the game will not only be based on combat. Between one mission and another you can take refuge inAbbazia, the hub of the game that will allow us to converse with our companions and upgrade skills and equipment.
Inside Marvel’s Midnight Suns there will be 13 confirmed superheroes currently by the developers. Among them will be some familiar faces from the Avengers, such as Iron Man, Captain America, Dr. Strange and Captain Marvel, up to Wolverine from the X-Men and other new faces like Blade and Ghost Rider. The protagonist that will be managed by the player will be an unpublished character called The Huntress, which can be personalized (or customized in the case of a male choice) both in appearance and in abilities. In fact, you can choose up to 40 different skills divided between powers of Light and Darkness with which to make our character unique. Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released in March 2022 su PS4, PS5, Xbox One e Xbox Series S/X, PC e Nintendo Switch.
