To promote the theatrical release of the film Matrix Resurrections, the two protagonists Keanu Revees e Carrie-Anne Moss, returning as Neo and Trinity, revealed to GameMe + and Total Film what their opinions and feelings were on the set of the long-awaited film.
Carrie-Anne Moss said:
I never fantasized about what Trinity’s future might be until I heard there was going to be a new movie. Then I had some ideas and I thought: Well, how is Lana Wachowski going to do that? But when I read the script, I couldn’t believe what it had created.
Discussing instead the relationship between the two characters, which is also evident in the latter Matrix, the actor commented:
There’s this scene where, I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re in the same scene together. It was really exciting to play that scene, that connection, declared yet unknown… it was overwhelming.
The return of Neo
On the occasion of the interview, Keanu Reeves also spoke about the famous meme that has been circulating on the web for some time now. Then, when asked about the return to the role of the protagonist Neo, the famous actor said:
It was fun, exciting, inspiring. And the premise of the new film, you hardly know it, but you feel it. Was it your past? It’s like flipping through a photo album, and you ask yourself: Was it me? It’s me? What does it mean?
Finally, the actress who plays the role of Trinity concluded:
Anyone who looks back on their life twenty years ago feels changed. Obviously, the film is taking it to another level. But I think back to twenty years ago and I think: Really? Was that me? I do not remember. Memory is interesting.
