On the occasion of her birthday, Gina Lollobrigida received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Nastri d’Argento 2022
Greetings to Gina Lollobrigida with a Silver Ribbon very special announced on his birthday. A tribute from the Italian Film Journalists to his magnificent ones 95 years old and together with a splendid career that began on the set in 1946, the same year in which the Nastri d’Argento were born in Rome. This was announced today by the National Board of the Award, which will deliver the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Ribbon to her during an institutional event in Cinecittà.

Gina Lollobrigida is an icon of Italian cinema and an actress who, like few others, has had and continues to have an international image and popularity. […] Rewarding her for her career is the best tribute to say a happy birthday today and to celebrate, together, a success that the specialized press highlighted with the first awards, immediately signaling her as a very young actress who would have come a long way.
These are the words of the President of the National Board of Film Journalists, Laura Delli Colli.
After her debut as a rough but beautiful and generous commoner, she was directed, among others, by Mario Soldati, Luigi Zampa, Mauro Bolognini and immediately requested to Hollywood. Here, in 1953, she appeared with Humphrey Bogart The treasure of Africa by John Huston. That film was followed by, among others, Sacred and profane by John Sturges e The Straw Woman with Sean Connery. Awarded with the Golden Globe in 1961 for Back in September by Robert Mulligan with Rock Hudson, won seven times the David di Donatello. She has also entered the news, apart from the tumultuous events suffered in recent years, for an exceptional scoop such as the memorable interview with Fidel Castro.
In 2018, Hollywood once again bowed to the popularity of the actress who will go down in history with the title of the film in which she staged the story of Lina Cavalieri. To Gina, the “most beautiful woman in the world”, the Walk of Fame dedicated a very coveted star, received with great emotion but also with his unmistakable verve. On his knees, Lollobrigida kissed the star, thus commenting on a historic moment also for Italian cinema:
“I was spoiled by Hollywood who treated me like a queen.”
And he has never forgotten it.
