Naughty Dog: no new chapter for Jak and Dexter!

Naughty Dog: no new chapter for Jak and Dexter!

According to the words of Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells, there is currently no new chapter of Jak and Dexter in development at the company.

Naughty Dog is a pretty big studio when it comes to Sony PlayStation exclusives. Just think of series like Uncharted or The Last of Us, which still makes headlines for an excellent second chapter that won awards last year, pto understand how the company has been able to impact the world of video games over the years. According to recent rumors, Naughty Dog would be working on a remake of the first chapter of The Last of Us, but there is a franchise, which has been silent for years, which still has many fans around the world. Let’s talk about Jak and Dexter.

A series that began in 2001 on PlayStation 2 with the chapter The Precursor Legacy, then continued with two sequels and several spin-offs by Naughty Dog. In 2009 another chapter was developed by High Impact Games, and then continued with the HD Remastered versions of the Collection including the first three games in 2012. Then, nothing more. And apparently, according to the words of Evan Wells, co-president of Naughty Dog, in reality many fans are still clamoring for a new chapter for the franchise. Interviewed by Ted Price of Insomniac in the Game Maker’s Notebook series, Wells, however, wanted to disillusion everyone immediately.

Naughty Dog is still in love with Jak and Dexter, but as of today no new chapter is in development!

Evan Wells has indeed stated:

I’m really sorry to destroy your hopes, but we don’t have any new Jak and Dexter games in development at the moment. We are still in love with the characters and I can well understand that what you (of Insomniac) are doing with Ratchet, is something that makes me think I want to do the same. We would really like to develop it, because there is still a lot of love for Jak and Dexter in the studio.
