ICARUS presenta NVIDIA DLSS e RTX Global Illumination

NVIDIA has teamed up with RocketWerkz to add NVIDIA DLSS e RTX Global Illumination (RTXGI) to ICARUS. Thanks to AI rendering technology and dedicated AI Tensor Core processors found exclusively on GeForce RTX GPUs, DLSS accelerates the ICARUS frame rate while preserving the game’s stunning graphics detail, thus providing image quality similar to native resolution. .

ICARUS is the first published game that uses NVIDIA RTX Global Illumination’s new infinite volume scrolling feature, demonstrating the possibilities of RTXGI for other games as well. The ICARUS environments enhanced with ray-traced global illumination obtained via RTXGI. In ICARUS, RTXGI provides realistic sun and moon illumination that naturally bounces from surface to surface. As players level trees, erect buildings, and change the environment, the lighting is instantly updated to reflect these changes, allowing the previously dark and shaded forest floor to be now brightly lit when trees are shot down.

To support the huge biomes of ICARUS, a new feature called Infinite Scrolling Volumes was developed for RTXGI. As players move around the environment, the lighting is updated in a large volume around the player’s point of view, reducing memory requirements and increasing performance.
