OneOdio Monitor 60 review: headphones for audiophiles

In this review we will get to know the OneOdio Monitor 60, the headphones of the homonymous company designed specifically for audiophiles and DJs

Days ago we dealt with a pair of hybrid headphones designed specifically for gaming and leisure. The possibility of being able to listen to music from the mobile phone wirelessly and to play on our PC was a great opportunity to miss it. In that review we told you about the OneOdio Pro M, capable of switch from one mode to the other flawlessly without loss of quality.

Today, however, we detach ourselves from the gaming world and take a look at that of audiophiles. In fact, in this review we will analyze the OneOdio Monitor 60, headphones designed entirely for listening to music and for DJing. We also wanted to test them under the gaming floor to see how they behaved. Do you want to know how it went? Let’s find out together.

Packaging and design | OneOdio Monitor 60 review

The headphones come in a very elegant but slightly difficult to open telescopic package. However, this also guarantees absolute safety from the point of view of accidental openings. Inside, after having lifted the card with the aphorism adopted by the company, we find two compartments: the largest will contain the Monitor 60 in their leatherette bag and a manual in which the various connections are explained, while the smaller one, obtained thanks to a folded cardboard, will contain all the cables supplied.

The headphones will be equipped with three AUX cables, each set up for a different operation. We will in fact have:

  • one from 1.2 meters with built-in microphone for everyday use
  • one from 10 foot to connect our headphones to the TV
  • a cable with jack da 3,5 mm a 6,35 mm which can be connected to the various controllers, directly to an instrument or even to pass the sound to another pair of headphones

Headphones show up right from the start Very elegant, thanks above all to the glossy inserts that break the monotony of the black color. The headband features a very thin padding covered in imitation leather. Although the latter is not exactly remarkable, the contact does not cause any discomfort, even after long sessions. On the top we find the name of the company, while inside it is hidden a plastic and metal core that gives flexibility and resistance.

The pavilions, very mobile thanks to the resealable structure, have the previously mentioned inserts on the outside. These encircle the motif used by OneOdio on all headphones and a central opening. The latter is covered with a perforated metal mesh and in the center we can see the company logo. The internal part, the one in contact with our head to be clear, has a soft lining with a thickness of more than 2.5 cm, also lined in imitation leather. This padding makes our sessions really “soft”, giving us maximum comfort even after hours of use.

Fit and Connections | OneOdio Monitor 60 review

As we have already mentioned, the fit turns out to be truly optimal. The structure of the headphones, combined with the flexibility of the headband, allows you to wear them comfortably in any situation. The wide and soft padding of the pavilions also guarantees good pressure, without causing pain over time. The over-ear design is better respected than the OneOdio Pro M, allowing the ear to find an ideal accommodation, even if the lobe, unfortunately, remains outside.

Let’s now analyze, in this review on the OneOdio Monitor 60, the various connections that these headphones have. As we have already said, three cables are included in the package, each with its own specific function. However it will be possible also connect two cables at the same time. This will allow us to have a more complete listening based on the connections adopted.

Also, we can share our experience with a friend. After connecting the Monitor 60 to a device, in fact we will have the possibility, thanks to the jack connector from 3.5 mm to 6.35 mm, to connect a second pair of headphones. In this way, everyone can listen to the same song without having to miss a single detail.

But how does it feel? | OneOdio Monitor 60 review

From the audio point of view we can say that these headphones they play with the best in their price range. I 50mm neodymium driver, combined with an open design, allow you to enjoy an excellent musical experience. If it is true that the openings tend to reduce insulation, on the other prevent the sound from being compressed excessively at volumes that are too high. This guarantees an unparalleled body, thus allowing you to perceive even the faintest sounds.

The wide frequency range covered by the headphones gives us gods deep and full-bodied bass, with sounds highs very clear and free of imperfections. The open structure also allows you to have a reduced sound distortion even at fairly high volumes.

Although they are headphones designed specifically for audiophiles, we still decided to test them on various games. After hours and hours of testing across multiple genres, we can say they perform pretty well overall. Obviously they give their best on titles with an important soundtrack. In the latter we will be able to enjoy the maximum experience thanks to the qualities of the same.

Instead, they perform less well on more frenetic titles. Let’s take shooters for example. On the one hand, the frequency range of this type allows us to have sounds as similar to the originals; on the other hand, the steps are less detailed. In the excited phases we will therefore risk not sensing the footsteps of an opponent that could go around and hit us from behind.

Conclusions

We have reached the end of this review on the OneOdio Monitor 60 and it is therefore time to take stock. These stylishly designed headphones, despite weighing around 320g, have a really comfortable fit. Whether you wear glasses or not, you will not have any trouble, thanks to thewide and soft padding that covers the pavilions. Although the over-ear design is not 100% respected, the long sessions do not create any disturbance.

The company’s choice to opt for a open pavilion surely it can affect the insulation of the headphones themselves. While this can negatively characterize the Monitor 60 on the one hand, on the other hand gives us a much more full-bodied and detailed sound, characterized by little distortion. Furthermore, with slightly higher volumes we will still be able to isolate ourselves from the outside world, without losing any detail of what we are listening to due to a compressed sound in the pavilions.

I am headphones designed mostly for audiophiles, but also at the gaming level they performed quite well, giving away one good overall experience and that becomes really good on titles with important soundtracks. These headphones are on sale on the official website at RRP of 81,95 €. However you will enjoy one 20% discount thanks to the code SUPER20% to be applied at the time of purchase.
