“Gigì, Sony”: PlayStation has revealed the acquisition of an entire platform aimed at making eSports more accessible, or Repeat.gg
While the Big N finds the water of the eSports still a little too cold, PlayStation it dives without thinking twice and the acquisition of Repeat.gg proves it. The platform, known for its intent to make videogame competition more accessible, has already hosted Fortnite, Call of Duty Warzone, League of Legends, PUBG and Dota 2 tournaments. The vice president of the competitive branch of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Steven Robertshe told GamesIndustry.biz: “With the talented team of Repeat.gg, we are excited to explore new ways to give players the opportunity to compete in competitive play, while expanding the industry.”

“We are thrilled to join the Sony team to collaborate and expand the variety of competitive experiences for players of all levels,” Fletcher said. Of course, this doesn’t mean an end to multiplatform title tournaments at all. Last year, Sony joined forces with another platform, RTS, to acquire as well Evolution Championship Series.
