PlayStation congratulates Italy for the Europeans

The console most loved by Italians praises the national team most loved by Italians for the most loved sport in Italy: PlayStation and Europeans

The triumph of Italy at the European championships it was also celebrated by the videogame world, specifically by PlayStation. It makes sense that the most popular consoles on Italian soil are the first to shake hands with the team that united the boot under a single flag, especially considering that it is the Italian sport par excellence. It was an obligatory choice, but that didn’t stop us from smiling when we saw Sony’s post about one of the national team’s most sweaty victories.

PlayStation Italia talks about Europeans … indeed, “sings”

The post below follows a truly painful game, in which Italy ended the Europeans with a scare in the second minute and heart-pounding penalties: not surprisingly, PlayStation has included in the photo of the champions what has now become the official choir for the national team. We allude to the well-known electric guitar riff of the White Stripes for Seven Nation Army, a song from 2003 that has by now ousted An Italian Summer by Gianna Nannini and Edoardo Bennato in the common imagination.

There was no lack of vitriol among the answers, like a tag to the console’s British account. However, there is also a lot of (and welcome) sportsmanship, specifically by figures from the videogame industry across the Channel. We allude to Andy Robinson, former member of Playtonic and Rare who now writes for VideoGamesChronicle. Humbly acknowledging the defeat, Robinson complimented our team on their work on the pitch.
