Packaging and build quality | Poco F5 Review
Poco F5 arrives in a simple and complete sales package. Inside you can find the67W fast power adapterthe USB-C cable, typical instruction manuals and even a cover in silicone trasparente. The smartphone is almost entirely made of plastic, however, in the opinion of the writer, this is nothing more than a plus; given the high resistance and lightness (only 181g). The power buttons are well set and have no flickering whatsoever.
The design itself does not present any particularly interesting ideas, however the colors present (Black and White) both have two different unique textures; the device under test, for example, exhibits a carbon fiber texture. The last gem is found on the front, thanks to an optimization of the frames never seen in this price range, we have almost total symmetry on all 4 sides!
Hardware and displays | Poco F5 Review
This is where the best comes in. Poco F5 brings real hardware with it top of the rangebut let the numbers speak for themselves: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 5GAdreno 725 (2 TFLOPS), 8 or 12 GB of type RAM memory LPDDR5256GB of ROM memory type UFS 3.1 and support to Wi-Fi 6. In short, what else to ask for in this price range? There’s actually more: precise haptic feedback, a display SuperAMOLED da 120Hz a 12 bit with HDR10+ support capable of reproducing the beauty of 68 billion colorsdouble speaker stereo of excellent quality and one of the most responsive touch we have ever tried.
The brightness stands at discrete levels, with an automatic peak that is close to i 1000 nits (however not a problem for visibility in direct sunlight). Furthermore, the display features various color calibrations, the ability to force the refresh rate and, of course, the Always On Display. The only small note lies in the receptionnot bad but not sensational either.
Cameras | Poco F5 Review
The photographic sector of this smartphone is in line with the reference price range. Later we find a main from 64 MP with optical stabilizer (OIS), an 8 MP ultra wide angle and an, unfortunately useless, 2 MP macro. Finally, there is a good quality 16 MP sensor on the front. The shots with the main camera are respectable, even in poor light conditions. Where the device fails is in the color reproduction with artificial lights, sometimes far from the real ones (nothing that can’t be fixed by updating). Discreet quality also for the ultra wide angle, which makes him the but does not go beyond. Nothing to say for the 2 MP Macro, which even lacks… in macros. Finally, a small mention of the videos, well stabilized and detailed. Here is a short gallery of shots, the final judgment is up to you.
Software and autonomy | Poco F5 Review
Poco F5 never ceases to amaze, bringing with it a stable software and, can you believe it, without any bugs. The basis is Android 13 with customization MIUI 14. The resulting experience is of an excellent level, MIUI in fact has many small precautions; among these the massive use of tactile feedback for most of the daily operations, a seemingly silly detail but which, combined with the excellent hardware, guarantees a first-rate user experience. The only unknown remains the update policywaiting for more news from Poco.
Finally, autonomy is the so-called icing on the cake. Well 5000 mAh which turn into almost 2 full days of use, thanks also to the excellent efficiency given by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. And when we need to recharge, the 67W power supply allows us to carry the device from 0 to 100% in just 47 minutes.
Conclusions and price
Poco F5 is, at the moment, one among the best devices on the market. For only €429.90 on the official website, you can take home a real flagship killer with top performance, long battery life, exceptional 12-bit display, stereo sound and fast charging. It is a device for everyone and it is also in the price: highly recommended! Before saying goodbye, we invite you to follow the mobile section of techgameworld.com for further news and video reviews.
