As we inexorably approach its release date, which is set for Summer 2021, a new one gameplay video allows us to discover some details of Psychonauts 2, the sequel to the cult 2005 title developed by Double Fine. In particular, the recently released video allows us to take a look at the design of some of the game levels and to get a better idea of his playability.
Psychonauts 2: the details of the gameplay video
The long gameplay video of Psychonauts 2 has been published on the youtube channel of the well-known trade magazine Game Informer and, as mentioned, contains the walk trought of some game levels. Anyone who has played the first title in the franchise knows that the levels represent the physical manifestations of some aspects of the psyche of a character and, consequently, are characterized by a thick structure surreal. The first one we see in the video is based on the teeth and the inside of the human mouth; the second, which is intended to be a representation of anxiety, has the appearance of a culinary reality show; the third, finally, has the shape of an immense library.
The video highlights theuniqueness of aesthetics of Psychonauts 2. The commentators then highlight how the game stands out for the large number of enemies it places in front of the player and, in general, for the depth of its gameplay. As for the note negative, the most evident according to the authors of the film concerns the componente platform of the game which, according to them, would have benefited from greater precision in receiving commands. Psychonauts 2 will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 4.
