An unprecedented success: EWIVA runs fast, boom in top-ups in the seven months since its launch.
In Italy over 280 stations
Beyond 280 stations for a total of approx 950 ultra-fast charging points installed throughout the national territory. From North to South of the country. These are the results that Ewiva has achieved.
The joint venture of Enel X Way, the Enel Group company entirely dedicated to electric mobility and Volkswagen Groupa leader in the automotive sector that has embraced the strategy of electrification.

Seven golden months
For Ewiva, the first seven months following the launch and inauguration of the first “Premium” top-up site in Rome. These already return significant figures, with which the company contributes to growth of high power infrastructure in Italy.
By creating the most extensive and widespread network of public charging stations HPC – High Power Charging – throughout the national territory.
Thus the CPO – Charging Point Operator – confirms its mission to accelerate the transition of our country towards electric mobility. By developing a charging infrastructure ultra-fast, innovative, performing and more and more within everyone’s reach.
An eye to environmental sustainability
Results which, moreover, translate into a concrete contribution to environmental sustainability for our country.
In particular, until July 2023 top-ups made by e-drivers on the Ewiva network avoid the emission of over 7,100,000 kg of CO2.
We add 500 kg of particulate matter, 16,700 kg of nitrogen oxides and they also contribute in reducing noise pollution.
This equals the amount of noise produced from over 11,200 motor cars. In addition, the mere number of kilometers traveled by those who have recharged on the Ewiva infrastructure, equal to 58 million km – 1,450 times the circumference of the Earth – expresses the desire shared with users to travel electric, preserve the environment as much as possible, relying on a highly efficient network with 100% renewable energy.

Ewiva therefore follows the common visions of Enel X Way e Volkswagen Group on the global electrification of transport towards the goal of carbon neutrality. There diffusion of electric mobility in Italy is the purpose that Ewiva sets itself to enable through the capillarity, efficiency and reliability of the infrastructures and their positioning in strategic areas of the country, but also by improving the level of accessibility to charging facilitieswhich translate into total freedom of movement from North to Southfor drivers of electric vehicles.

In this perspective, in addition to the over 50 top-up service providers (“MSP”, Mobility Service Provider) interoperable with the Ewiva network through which users can use the top-up with App or RFID Card, there are many projects that the company is developing, first of all the introduction of Plug&Charge functionality on all its charging stations, an innovative system that allows the column to communicate directly with the car, without the need to authenticate via app or card, but also the experimental project that allows pay the top-up directly at the station in contactless mode through debit, credit, or prepaid cards of the Mastercard, Visa, Vpay and Maestro circuits, as well as through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The words of Federico Caleno, CEO of Ewiva and Head of Country Italy of Enel X Way
“The results obtained in this first part of the year only encourage us to pursue our goals with even more conviction – said Federico Caleno, CEO of Ewiva and Head of Country Italy of Enel X Way -. The path towards sustainable mobility has seen a turning point in recent years and involves various public and private actors, in different and complementary industries.
Ewiva, by building the high-power electric recharging infrastructure and committing itself to making the electric recharging service accessible to everyone, from North to South, plays a leading role in the diffusion of e-mobility in our country. By 2025, we aim to install 3,000 ultra-fast charging points in Italy: a constant commitment, which we share with Local Administrators who decide to promote electric mobility in their municipality, but also with many private partners belonging to different sectors , such as GDO, Ho.Re.Ca and Retail, which support Ewiva’s vision and to whom we are grateful for their collaboration towards a more sustainable future”.
