In the past few hours, a rumor has begun to circulate on the net that would like to see the development of Scalebound resume, the Microsoft and PlatinumGames title canceled some time ago
Six years have now passed (six years!!) since that January 2017 in which Scalebound, the action-RPG developed by PlatinumGames for Microsoft exclusively for Xbox consoles, was officially cancelled. However, a cancellation it still hurts all fans and a large number of gamers, who had already fallen in love with what could be seen from the trailers, from the frenetic action to being able to ride dragons. So many have hoped for years that the two companies would reach an agreement to resurrect the game, and according to a recent rumor, perhaps, we could be there.
According to the co-founder of XboxEra, Nick Baker, in fact, PlatinumGames and Microsoft are each working on its own to reach an agreement and bring the Scalebound project back. Baker said in a recent episode of the XboxEra Podcast that these negotiations are in the very early stages of discussion, and therefore it will take some time to actually find out more.
A rumor gives us hope: perhaps the development of Scalebound will be able to resume?
Baker himself said that he does not know what form the game will take and therefore if the two companies will decide to take back what is left of the old Scalebound or to start over. He also states that, in any case, if they really come to an agreement, the game would be far from being able to even be seen. It is not the first time that there has been talk of a revival of Scaelbound, that’s for sure, and we too, in our small way, really hope for it.
Also because we admit it with an open heart: the only possibility that the development of Scalebound can resume and one day the title can see the light is for us, like many other enthusiasts, exciting.
