A brand new show is about to hit streaming. It’s about Shōguna miniseries consisting of 10 episodeswhich will arrive in the United States in February, on the streaming platform Hulu. FX recently released the official trailerlet’s take a look.

The series, set in 1600, follows the events of John Blackhthorne, an English sailor who finds himself lost in a remote village in feudal Japan. The new environment, totally different from what he was used to, will have a strong impact on him as a person. In this new land he will also be involved, despite himself, in a terrible civil war, fought by the powerful Lord Yoshii Toranaga, against its many rivals. She will act as a translator between the two men Lady Toda Marikoa woman with great abilities, who however hides important secrets regarding her family ties.
The cast includes Cosmo Jarvis, as the protagonist John Blackhthorne. At his side Hiroyuki Sanada ed Anna Sawai. Rachel Kondo e Justin Marks they took care of the screen adaptation of this story. Marks he is also the miniseries’ showrunner and executive producer.
The release date and the trailer
Shōgun is actually an adaptation of the best-selling book of the same name by James Clavellalready previously transposed into a 1980 miniseries, directed by Jerry London. The new version, which in the USA will be broadcast by Hulu, with one episode a week, it will be available in Italy probably on Disney Plus, which holds the foreign distribution rights to Hulu. The making of Shōgun was hard work, carried out for years, so much so that the pilot was ordered as early as 2018. The series currently does not have a precise date for its broadcast. We should therefore wait a little longer, perhaps the beginning of 2024, to have more information.
