Sony has announced the overall winners of the Sony World Photography Awards 2024, one of the most prestigious events in the sector. The gala ceremony, held in London, celebrated Juliette Pavy as photographer of the year; together with many other artists. Also Italian names in the Professional categories.

The World Photography Organisation has revealed the names of the photographers who won the most coveted titles of the Sony World Photography Awards 2024. The award Photographer of the Year going to Juliette Pavy for his series “Spiralkampagnen: Forced Contraception and Unintended Sterilisation of Greenlandic Women”a powerful visual story that addresses a little-known but highly socially relevant topic.
The overall winners of the competitions were also announced Open, Student e Youthin addition to the winner of Sustainability Prize. To win this award, Kathleen Orlinsky (United States) with the America's First Wilderness series.

The winners of the competition Professionalwhose images you can see here, are: Siobhan Doran (Ireland) for Architecture and Design, Sujata Faithful (UK) for Creative Photography, Juliette Pavy (France) for Documentary, Mahé Elipe (France) for Environment, Eddo Hartmann (Netherlands) for Landscape, Jorge Monaco (Argentina) per Portfolio, Valery Poshtarov (Bulgaria) for Portrait, Thomas Meurot (France) for Sports, Federico Scarchilli (Italy) for Natura Morta ed Eva Berler (Greece) for Nature and Wild Animals.
Liam Man (United Kingdom) won the Open Photographer of the Year 2024 award. The photography student of the year is Kayin Luys (Belgium). While Daniel Murray (UK, 15 years old) is the young photographer of 2024. Finally, Sebastian Salgado won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Photography.
You can also see the awarded works and those of the finalists at mostra dei Sony World Photography Award 2024staged at Somerset House in London starting from 19 April.
