Cillian Murphy launches his production company, Netflix will distribute his first film entitled Steve based on the novel Shy by Max Porter
Among the most popular actors of the moment, Cillian Murphy, star of Peaky Blinders and Oppenheimer, is starting his own production company. After the success of the film by Christopher NolanMurphy will in fact be the protagonist of a new Netflix feature film entitled Steve based on the novel Shy by Max Porter about a headmaster of an institution for disturbed young students who struggles with his mental health. Steve will be directed by Belgian director Tim Mielants, who has already worked with Murphy in Peaky Blinders and Small Things Like This and written by the same author as the original book. The production of the film, however, is handled by Cillian Murphy himself and Alan Moloney with their new production company Big Things Films. But let’s go into more detail.

Cillian Murphy’s production company for a new Netflix film
For the occasion, Cillian Murphy signed an agreement with Netflix, which will distribute the first film produced by Big Things Films, entitled Steve, loosely based on Shy, a novel by Max Porter. The story chronicles 24 hours in the life of Steve, a reform school administrator who struggles to keep his students in line, and struggles with his rapidly deteriorating mental health.
Murphy will play the protagonist and will produce alongside Moloney, while Tim Mielants (Peaky Blinders) will direct. The screenplay is by Porter himself. The new production company intends to create films and TV series in which Murphy can act, but not only.
