Suzume is a 17-year-old student who lives with her aunt in the small town of Kyūshū. One day she meets Souta, a mysterious traveler, who asks her for directions to an abandoned spa and a mysterious door. Fascinated by the boy, she Suzume decides to follow him, arriving to open that very door and thus unleashing unimaginable disasters. She will begin an adventure for the two throughout Japan, in search of other dangerous portals.

The Italian voices of the characters have already been disclosed. Suzume Iwato will be the voice of Clare Fabianowhile Souta Munakata will have that of Manuel Meli. Frances Manicone will voice Tamaki Iwato, while Emmanuel Ruzza he will lend it to Tomoya Serizawa. Daijin will be voiced by Alberto Vanninimentor Suzume Child da Charlotte Infussi. Also in the cast Arianna Vignoli, Eleonora Reti ed Edward Stoppacciaroossia Chika Amabe, Rumi Ninomiya and Minoru Okabe.
Eva Padoan will dub Miki, while Darius Oppido will be the voice of Hitsujiro Munakata.

It was the streaming service Crunchyroll to announce the release date and voice actor list for Suzume no Tojimari. The film will be available from April 27, in Italian cinemas. As reported by Crunchyroll, the new film, released last November 11 in Japan and then exported to various countries around the world, has achieved great public and critical acclaim. The first teaser was released on April 10, 2022, and the first extended trailer was released on July 15, 2022. The second was instead released on 29 September.

In the wake of success

After touring several countries, now it’s Italy’s turn to find out what Makoto Shinkai’s new work has in store, also considering the great success of his previous feature films; one name above all is that of Your Name, winner of numerous awards. The Sitges, International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia awarded it Best Animated Feature, as did the Newtype Anime Awards and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, just to name a few. Makoto Shinkai’s success doesn’t stop there; the director has in fact been nominated three times for the Annie Award: in 2017 for the best director of Your Name and in 2020 for the best direction and screenplay in an animated film, for Weathering With You.
