Canon today introduced the new EOS R6 Mark IIan extremely fast mirrorless camera, with which the brand expands the pioneering EOS R system. The camera guarantees a speed of 40 fps with electronic shutter, excellent AF even in low light conditions and 6K RAW video on internal 4K UHD 60p external recorder, all based on the RF mount.
Using the same DIGIC X processor at the heart of the EOS R5, EOS R6 and EOS-1D X Mark III models, together with the new 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, EOS R6 Mark II supports the renowned next-generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. This allows to reach incomparable levels of speed and reliability.
The EOS R6 Mark II is able to track subjects keeping them in focus even as they move around the frame. The camera uses deep learning-trained AI to recognize people, vehicles (now including planes and trains), and animals (even horses and zebras). The user can choose, through the appropriate menu, the type of subject to be identified. Also the function will do it automatically. Advanced eye tracking lets you specify which eye (left or right) to focus on, and if eyes cannot be detected, the EOS R6 Mark II focuses on the face in focus. Even if the person turns their back for a moment, the camera continues to follow their head and if the latter is no longer visible, it follows the body.

IS performance is also high, thanks to the Image Stabilizer up to 8 stops. This way the results will be sharp even without the use of a tripod. Photographers can capture the mood of any occasion, focusing perfectly in light levels as low as -6.5EV[iv] and managing to shoot at ISO speeds up to 102,400.
RAW Burst mode delivers speed, allowing you to shoot continuously at 30fps for up to 191 frames, saving each image in a single CR3 file, all with AF tracking. Individual images can be extracted from this file, using Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software or directly in the camera, and saved as individual JPEG, HEIF or RAW files.
The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is the only camera in its class that can shoot in 4K 60p UHD, relying simultaneously on Dual Pixel CMOS AF. All 4K footage is created by upsampling the sensor’s 6K output, resulting in exceptional image quality.
The camera is compatible with the recently updated proprietary Camera Connect app, which will allow you to manage all the settings even from your smartphone. For more information, we refer you to the official Canon website.
