Un viaggio per conoscere il grande mondo di Michelin thumbnail

The Michelin world goes beyond four wheels

In the car tire sector, Michelin is undoubtedly one market leader. Over time it has established itself as a true symbol of this field, immediately recognizable for its performance and reliability characteristics. But the Michelin world goes beyond tires and four wheels and we have everything to find out embarked on a trip to Franciacortabetween good food and unforgettable driving experiences.

Michelin, 360 ° mobility even beyond two and four wheels

The meeting point is in the splendid hotel Relaisfranciacorta, in the heart of the famous area of the province of Brescia. Here we found the radio host waiting for us Petra Loreggian, who guided us in a meeting to discover the emotions that characterize the Michelin brand. We naturally start with the legendary tires, which have become iconic not only for four wheels, but also for motorcycles and bicycles.

It was to tell us how the brand is oriented towards 360 ° mobility Alfio Fama ‘, Marketing Director Business to Consumer for the company. The idea is to offer products that truly cover every area of movement, even going beyond vehicles, with the offer of technical rubber soles that help us to move safely even when we are on foot.

But the confirmation of how true all this is came from two real motor authorities. Guests of the evening were indeed Dindo Capellothree times winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans among the many boasted in his palmarès, and Marco LucchinelliHall of Fame motorcyclist and winner in the 500 Class of the world championship with Suzuki in 1981.

The two champions told many anecdotes from their careers, retracing iconic events. A dive into the history of this sport, inextricably linked to Michelin, whether on two or four wheels. Not only that, but also in today’s daily life, the two recognize the importance of this brand, on their personal vehicles including cars, motorcycles and electric bicycles.

What does three Michelin stars mean?

Another very important area in which this company has unquestionably established itself is that of catering. There Michelin guide has become a point of reference for all lovers of good food. And if very often we hear about the historical “stars” that indicate the best restaurants, it is good to remember exactly what they represent.

It is of course a quality judgment, but always linked in some way to mobility in its conception. In fact, the idea is that a one-star restaurant is a place that is “worth the stop”, two stars “worth the detour” and three stars “worth the trip“. And during the evening we were able to testify the goodness of these evaluations (and not only).

In fact, after the meeting we went to the table, where we enjoyed an extraordinary dinner by the chef Enrico “Chicco” Cerea of the restaurant From Vittorio. A triple star on the aforementioned Michelin Guide that really left us stunned. Without wishing to steal the work of the most qualified critics, we would like to say that indeed such a meal really worth a trip appropriate.

In the gallery above you can see the evening menu, accompanied by some shots of the dishes. A truly exceptional experience, which guided us into a real one path in tasteuntil the sweet conclusion with a flurry of outstanding dessertsstarting with the cannoncini prepared directly at the table at Cerea.

Let’s get back on four wheels with Michelin and Porsche

The second day was instead dedicated completely to the engines. From our hotel we left for the Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta to test ourselves on the circuit. A quick briefing to explore what awaited us that day and then off to the wheel.

Four experiences to try during the morning. The first was a tour of the area Low Friction, where we challenged ourselves to ride on a very low grip circuit. Moving on a track that replicated the conditions of a snow-covered parking it was very particular and demanding. Little by little, however, we learned not only to maintain control of the car during skids but rather use them to go where we wanted.

The second challenge concerned the road holding (definitely impressive). We were able to carry out both a slalom at high speeds and dodge a sudden obstacle on our path with quick reflexes and in total safety.

And then it was time for the simulator, where we challenged our colleagues to set the fastest lap on the Franciacorta circuit. Beyond the satisfactory mid-table placement, it was particularly useful as training for the final event: a test directly on the track. And’amazing experienceaccompanied by an instructor who guided us like a real navigator, who made us feel like real pilots for a few minutes.

Michelin, much more than four wheels

This two days completely immersed in the Michelin world it was therefore truly exceptional. A journey that allowed us to discover more about this reality, not only in words but in deeds. Between good food and high-speed emotions we were able to touch the quality of this reality. And we can’t wait for another similar opportunity to deepen our knowledge even more.
