It is close to the return of The Settlers

Today, Ubisoft announced the long-awaited return of The Settlers. This is the RTS game in which players will have to settle in a new land, gather resources to build their communities. You will also need to recruit other civilians (or engineers) and form military units to protect and defend your settlement. The Settlers will be released on Windows PC on March 17th and is now available for pre-order on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. Furthermore, players will be able to participate in the Closed Beta, which will start on January 20.

Developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, The Settlers returns as a reboot inspired primarily by The Settlers 3 and The Settlers 4, two of the most popular games in the franchise. Players can look forward to a new title, built from the ground up using it Snowdrop Engine owned by Ubisoft. The video game sets a new visual benchmark in the RTS gaming genre. Players will experience lush and colorful environmental biomes, as well as a modernized gameplay. Players will be able to enjoy the title in one of three game modes: single player campaign, Onslaught and skirmish (Solo vs. AI, co-op vs. AI or PvP with up to eight players).

In The Settlers, the Elari (one of the game’s factions) are forced to flee their homeland and must settle in new and unknown lands. Adventure awaits them as the Settlers meet other citizens and face difficult challenges on their journey. There are a total of three playable factions in The Settlers, each with a unique look, play style and respective background story.

Upon release, The Settlers will be available in two versions:

  • Standard Edition: Base game
  • Deluxe Edition: Base game, Deluxe Pack and more

Players participating in the next Closed Beta will have access to: Tutorial, two playable factions and two Skirmish modes, 1v1 and 2v2. Players will be able to play the Closed Beta for an unlimited time between 20 and 24 January on both Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect. The closed beta preload will be available on January 18.
