Important news in sight for the series The Witcher, which after changing the protagonist, is heading towards a fifth season
Those just passed were not easy times for The Witcherthe Serie Netflix in fact, he had to face a not insignificant change, among the ranks of the cast. Fans of the series are well aware that we are referring to the abandonment of Henry Cavill and its replacement with Liam Hemsworth. Clearly the change of protagonist was not appreciated by all, also because Cavill seemed really perfect in the role of Geralt in Rivia. With the arrival of a new protagonist, the future of the series seemed uncertain, until Sophie Holland, casting director, has not leaked some important news. Let’s find out.
A fifth season planned | The Witcher: the series renewed for a fifth season
Fortunately only good news from Sophie Holland. Waiting for the third season, which will arrive on the Netflix platform on June 29thwith a first part e July 27th with the second, we can already tell you that the thoughts of the creators are already directed towards one season 5. A courageous choice given the change of protagonist, but it could also mean great confidence in the still unpublished episodes. It is therefore possible that the series is able to stand on its feet very well, even without the character that made it iconic; who knows if the public will think this way too. We have to specify though that Netflix still hasn’t confirmed the arrival of a fifth season.
And the fourth?
We’ve talked about a third season on the way and a fifth in development. And the fourth? Holland reassured fans on this point as well, stating: “We are about to start filming the fourth season with Liam Hemsworth as the protagonist, then there will be a small break before starting shooting the fifth“. The third season will in fact conclude Henry Cavill’s journey as the protagonist, to then give way to Liam Hemsworth who would therefore already be on the set. Although we tried to understand her thoughts regarding this replacement, the casting director preferred not to expose herself on this change of actors:
I will not comment on this. I would like to but I won’t. I can’t wait to see what Liam adds to this character. Season 4 will be a nice mix of new and old characters.
