The German manufacturer will be only the first in a long line of brands that will adopt the app in their cars.

You will be able to watch TikTok videos in your car, but safely

TechCrunch reports that the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be equipped with an updated version of the MBUX infotainment system, to be followed by the next Mercedes-Benz OS called MB.OS. Mercedes plans to launch MB.OS on the next generation of vehicles, which is expected to hit the market at the end of 2024.

The MBUX update will be rolled out on what TechCrunch calls “a superscreen”. This should cover the entire dashboard and allow drivers to click through to the TikTok app as well watch videos when the vehicle is parked.

Passengers will also benefit from the superscreen, as part of it is aimed at the right-hand seat. The passenger display has a limited field of view, meaning the driver won’t be able to watch TikTok videos played on that screen to avoid distracting driving. The car also features a driver monitoring system that will track where the driver’s gaze is directed.
